Uh, Why can't I breathe?
I'm convinced the mountains are selfish. I'm convinced they suck the oxygen out of the air and laugh in our faces. Ok well, maybe not convinced...it's more of a theory I suppose. Maybe a hypothesis. You got a better one?
What brings about this flawless conviction/theory/hypothesis you ask? A business trip to Colorado Springs. Let's just say I'm spoiled. If you've ever been to Colorado, you know what I'm talking about.
I ran the Templeton Trail in Palmer Park and it was awesome. Trails in STL just seem a little, how can I say, lacking. Lacking the wide open, mountainous view that is Colorado Springs. I found myself "breaking" my neck to try and see everything as I was running on the trail. I wanted to stop everywhere and take pictures (that and I couldn't breathe that well).
People keep saying something about elevation and how it makes it harder to breathe. Something about 6000 feet above sea level makes you light-headed. Whatever...I'll blame it on the mountains. How beautifully selfish they are...
I suppose this means I need to enable the "Non-STL" trails section. We'll see.
